The miniature wargaming Apocalypse is nigh, with the Field of Glory II digital miniatures game adding two huge mods, and even a shout out to Little Big Men Studios. Here is my review for this week for wargamer.com. Here is the direct link:

The arts and crafts side of wargaming is too important for me to give it up in favour of computer games.

Having said that the idea of a good computerised version of my tabletop game is interesting. I only get in 1 tabletop game a week at best and the idea of playing more games, tuned too my preference, in sounds good. At the very least I could test armies/units to see if I like their playstyle before buying their metal version.

I do like to play computer games but normally stick to games like Age of Empires, Civilization and Total War over looking for computerised tabletop games. I might as well give them a try sometime and added the FoG ones to my Steam wishlist.

I really like this game, the play by mail system is a great way to play games with friends that live too far away and it is easy to take a turn whenever convenient.
