Warlord Games has infantry, cavalry and artillery for the War of the Spanish Succession, which I understand to be a re-release of the former Wargames Factory WSS products. Infantry and Cavalry are provided in two flavours: Sun King or Grand Alliance. I understand that these are pretty generic figures, and that they'd mostly be distinguished by uniform colour and/or standards. Other than the box art, are there any differences between the SK and GA sets? thanks! |

I have a ton of the original Wargames Factory figures, both painted and still on the sprue. I see nothing on the website that suggests that the SK or GA flavours are any different other than the painting instructions and flags included. All the main differences are made with a coat of paint. |

its my understanding its just instructions and flags difference. similar to the ecw cavalry which is just the flyer with the flags difference. i have wgf figs, and the new infantry sprues were reworked for the new release. they got rid of alot of the extras, and you have more of single pose as opposed to the old sprues. |

I missed out on the chance to pick up WGF figures when they were still readily available. I'm looking at figures for the GNW now, and even after the Warlord Games changes, they still look like the best bang for the buck. Plus, being plastic with options like different heads, they should be good conversion fodder! If the only difference between the boxes is the art and the info sheet, then it won't make a difference to me which box I order. Cheers, Will |

Yes, just artwork and info sheet/flags. Tally Ho! |

Yes, just artwork and info sheet/flags. Well, that's crap. So they're ALL generic, but they were too lazy and cheap to just put two different flag sheets in each box? |

Less figures for more money. Used to be 36 infantry for $22 USD now you get 24 figures for $25. USD Not sure a set of flags is worth the difference. And new box art. |

;) – I meant that in good fun of course! Yeah, it would have been nice to get on board the WSS bandwagon when WGF was still in business. However, I missed that chance, so Warlord is still looking to be the most reasonable deal. I'm certainly not interested in either the box art or the flags! |

Sad that they specifically called half of them "French", without actually giving them any French uniform distinctions. On a lark, at a game store about a year ago, I picked up their ECW "Firelock storming party" box. I was disgusted to find that EVERY ING PLASTIC MINI IN THE BOX WAS EXACTLY THE SAME. Well, aside from the fact that they had two different, teeny little hats for you to chose from. They lost massive credibility with me. This does NOT help. So much for Warlord. It's too bad no one else sells miniatures. Oh, wait. |

So, I got a box of the Warlord Games re-boxed Wargames Factory WSS infantry. I put a quick unboxing review on my blog here: link cheers Will |
