I'm off to Paris on business for a few days. Was thinking of going to the Musée de la Armee but was wondering if there are any shops I should check out for gaming?

Make sure you do not miss Forgotten and Glorious in the Village Suisse within a shortish walk of the Museum – across the other side of the Champs de Mars. Check the opening days and times though – they open relativel late in the morning and are closed at least one weekday per week. Also lock up your wallet – although you cannot swing a cat in the shop they have their own ranges and a wicked show case in the window with some painted figures for sale… prices are very reasonable (I have in mind something like 10 euros per figure) for the quality… you have been warned!!!

Only to get nice, more or less expensive 28mm painted figs from available stock.
Shops, no more, bookstores maybe… If you read French.

There are some decent* game shops, I saw mostly boardgames but minis as well. Starplayer, which is near Notre Dame, had tables and gaming when I was there, and Troll2jeux had gaming night going on once when we showed up there.

If you look for paris board game shops in google maps, you will find plenty of game stores.

*I live on an island with no game stores, so my standards might be low, but I found the French game stores to be well worth visiting. Of course, the version of Carcassonne I got there is in French, but you can download english rules…

hello, the biggest and nicest store for miniatures in Paris is the waaagh-taverne.fr. Open all days, can play late at nite; food, drink & beers… It is located in the Montparnasse area.
only fantasy & sci-fi game …

the historical miniatures for gamers stores are all close now (since the price for a shop in Paris is too expensive, most of them are now in the suburn or elsewhere in France) 2 nice adresses:
forgottenglorious.blogspot.fr very nice mins
& Au plat d'etain: link (since 1775) oldies but goldies ;)
