Hi,

New to Napoleonics and starting off by buying a couple of Hungarian Fusilier units to bolster those that the group alrady have for a specific game.

Decided on AB miniatures and thinking I will byuy a sheet of flags too.

But they have two options

1806 Pattern, Hungarian
1806 Pattern, Unit ID, Hungarian

There are no photos, presumably to stop you printing them off and making your own for free.

Anyone know what the difference is and which sheet I should be getting.

Cheers,

Nigel

There is no reliable record of which unit carried which type. The main difference between the two types is that the unit ID was carried on one in a rectangle sewn to or painted onto the top corners e.g.

Personally I would choose whichever one looks better for you. If you have more units you can mix and match.

Many thanks,

Are those examples of the AB flags?

Does that mean that you have to write the unit number in yourself?

Cheers,

Nigel

No they are not AB but I suspect that will be the case so that you can tailor them to your needs. A few strokes rather than exact numbers should be sufficient at that scale.
