"The Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78 was a conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Eastern Orthodox coalition led by the Russian Empire and composed of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro. Fought in the Balkans and in the Caucasus, it originated in emerging 19th-century Balkan nationalism. Additional factors included Russian hopes of recovering territorial losses suffered during the Crimean War, re-establishing itself in the Black Sea and supporting the political movement attempting to free Balkan nations from the Ottoman Empire. The background, operations and outcomes are described in detail. All the ships involved, both Russian and Turkish, are described and illustrated with full technical specifications. Profusely illustrated with scale drawings (side views) and illustrations"

I think thats in Indian Rupees based upon the link. I have the book on my wishlist for Amazon US and its around $30 USD or so. I have some of Olender's books and really like them. How gameable is the Russo Turkish War on the naval front? I bought some old Houston's (?) ships at Fall In a year ago.

Just picked up the Kindle version from Amazon US for $14.99 USD (963.49 rupees) and downloaded it to five different devices. Can't complain about that.

Not as good as the author's previous books. Far too much reliance on the Russian official histories which (as noted in Menning's "Bayonets before Bullets") were rewritten at least twice to cover up the glaring faults of some of the higher placed commanders (including members of the Imperial family).

That said, the technical data make it a worthwhile purchase.

I just picked up a copy for about $50 USD and it's well worth the money.
