Assuming you have been good all year that is. I had forgotten asking for Field's Waterloo Rout and Retreat. Even more Hussey's two volumes, with the unusually unsensational (by current publishing standards) titles Waterloo, The Campaign of 1815. Thank God no more figures this Christmas. Gardes d'Honneur next project. I do hope Perrys do produce the promised heads to graft onto their plastic hussars, for a few extra figures |

The OGRE Armory Set 1, which I will spend the day assembling, and then paint. Hours of fun for the whole family! (Given that these days I AM my whole family, of course.) Real question is whether I'm prepared to trudge through snow to get the boards out of the garage. |

Time to start putting together something for my Russians to shoot at…got some Murawski campaign-dress Polish infantry before christmas, and they're a joy to paint. And I should be getting some Calpe, and Perry pre-Bardin French this week. Oh, and picked up a paint shaker--curious to see how that works out… |

With 8 grand kids its mostly about them; BUT my daughter presented me with a Hodor door stop. It shows him holding the door with the word Hodor perpendicular to him and the word itself on an ascending angle so you can slip under a door. I hope that makes sense. I'm still on an eggnog high. Its very clever and almost wargame related. Merry Christmas. H |

All three sets of "Cod Wars" ships from Shapeways, in 1/700 and some 1/72 A9 tanks. |
deadhead | 25 Dec 2017 7:30 a.m. PST |
Great answers. A9 tanks? Yer kidding. Those British tanks of start of WWII with the weird turrets on the glacis plate? They will not last through to New Year. A paint shaker??????I have seen that in our local massive store for paint in 5L drums, but not for Vallejo bottles….mind you, now I think of it…suddenly makes more sense. A Hodor door stop…..brilliant idea…………recently watched that on BluRay on my crosstrainer (never see these things in real time. Walking Dead, Peaky Blinders, Vikings all 40 minutes every night peddling away. With subtitles as my hearing is gefucht anyway.) any way. Merry Christmas to all and God bless those who indulge us and pretend to be interested when we explain poor de Grouchy's role in 1815 or Baring's total disinterest in the chap showing that he is down to his last two rounds…..

OK, it has the blisters in the wings, but where are the cannon? Not bad for a Napoleonic buff…eh? Trivia, What were the first planes shot down by Spitfires in WWII? A; Hurricanes….blue on blue. When did Spitfires fight Spitfires?……Israel vs Egypt post WWII. Their first war of many….. |

I actually got a bunch of things of interest to miniature wargamers, mostly books, but the only Napoleonic item was the last Hollins Osprey book on the Austrian army of the Napoleonic era that was still absent from my collection. - Ix |

Since 14th NJ Vol chimed in (wargaming buddy), so will I. A box of 4 Battlefront M113s, a box of Battlefront Type 95 Japanese tanks, two blisters of Battlefront Jeeps with recoiless rifles, five blisters of Battlefront Lorraine carriers, 3 Battlefront Wirblewinds, 4 Command Decision packs of R39s and one of ACG-1s, and lastly my Kickstarter box of OGRE plastic miniatures. I have no idea when I'm going to be able to paint all this stuff let alone all the unpainted stuff I already had. A familiar lament on this website I'm sure. |

Merry Christmas Liam. Sounds like a nice haul. I got a box of Waterloo 1815 1/72 foot dragoons from my wife. Which is impressive as I don't think I put them on my list, and they are new out. Some books from MD (almost) son on the cavalry at Waterloo and scenario books from my brother – the Michael Hooper ones – boy did good for me this year. Mind you, I got him five boxes of HaT Spanish and the Summerfield books on the Spanish Army so fairs fair. Have a great new year. Maybe I'll do some GdeH in 1/72 and send you some pics Marc |

Just remember which side go the flounders on the shako for Gardes d'Honneur. Spongeman to the right of the cannon, King's colour to the right of the colour party, but the flounders to the left of the shako, uniquely. |

A selection of Perry goodness, including Eclaireurs, Russian heavy and horse artillery, French dragoons in bearskin to convert to early Carabiniers, and some extra British heavy dragoons for Waterloo. Footslogger, just to encourage you on the conversion to carabiniers…..and I stress only done on a PC!
Now venison in a giant Yorkshire pudding, that sounds really good! Just call it a venison casserole or even a ragout, instead of stew, and it would cost ten times as much in a pretentious restaurant. |

Got the Big Box o Lizards (two stegadons, 3 terradons, and a commander on T-rex), another Start Collecting box (a commander on T-Rex, 8 Saurus Cav, and 12 Saurus on foot), and Lord Kroak on his floating throne. This will give me one big boss wizard, one big boss combatant on T-Rex, one boss combatant on T-Rex, one boss combatant on foot, 16 Saurus cav on raptors, 24 Saurus on foot, 3 light cav, one War Stegasaurus, one Stegasaurus carrying magical artillery, and about 20 skirmishers. Big stompy lizards for the win! |
