I'm trying to identify a uniform I suspect to Belgian cavalry or Artillery. I'm on my I phone and can't post a picture. But I'll put one up when I get to my laptop. The man is mounted, has a busby with red bag and white plume. He has a blue jacket with red lapels similar to British or Prussian lancers. His collar is black/dark blue. And his cuffs look black/dark blue with red lining. He has white epulettes. My first thought was Carabiniers or Guides. But Guides wore green and Carabiniers seem to have converted to Dragoons and didn't wear busbies anyway. I'm struggling because, I'm English at least the Belgian uniforms seem to stop in 1815 and start again in 1914 with little inbetween Any ideas? |

no «Carabiniers» (or Dragoons) regiments in the Belgian Cavalry, the Belgian (foot) Carabiniers are only in the Infantry you have Cuirassiers disbanded in 1863 and Guides with respectives heavy and light easily recognizable uniforms, then Lancers with usual shapskas and Chasseurs with shakos the "busby" with blue jackets seems to indicate something like the Civic Guard Cavalry or Horse Artillery
