OK so I currently have AB, Blue Moon and Old Glory 15s in my collection of lead to be painted and they seem to blend in OK size-wise. I was wondering how Essex miniatures would scale in with these?

Thanks

Tony.

Essex will blend in fine with the OG 15's and AB figures, but will be noticeably smaller than the Blue Moon figures.

I think the OP already pointed out that he is happy using AB and Old Glory 15s along with Blue Moon as he finds that they all "blend in size wise???"
I use Blue Moon units right along side my original Old Glory and they look fine???

I have each of these ranges in some numbers. Essex is tough to blend. They are shorter, fatter (thicker is maybe a better word), with considerably less detail than the others. Muskets – and especially bayonets – tend to be much shorter also. On the other hand, they are uncluttered and easy to paint and look great. I mix the occasional Essex figure with those others mentioned, mostly on speciality stands like command or skirmish groups, but generally keep them in their own units; side by side, if you glance back and forth, the units can be told apart, but you avoid the giant-beside-halfling effect. I have little issue with AB, OG or BM together, although sometimes the AB dudes look a bit thin and effete alongside the others – maybe Boston clerk conscripts as opposed to New York Irish workmen or Alabama farm boys with broad backs and roped muscles!! Finally, I find I use Essex mostly for Union stands – better fed, more uniformity and so forth, while the sometimes wackier original OG poses gravitate towards the CSA stands, which tend towards greater variety of uniform and equipment anyway. AB and BM work either way, and the BM figures I find really superb across the ranges, in ACW and Napoleonic releases both. (I also have other makers in the figure drawers, including Peter Pig and Musket; there's a nail made for every hammer!!)
