Have any of you seen the trailer for the Legend of the Galactic Heroes reboot?

What do you think about the changes?

I didn't even know about it, but it's Production I.G. so I'm optimistic.

I would be worried if it was in the hands of a studio not accustomed to producing shows with serious themes.

Looks interesting, and if it reciecves an official stateside release, I would watch it.

However, I prefer the ships designs of the original anime.

Is the original series (either dubbed in English or with subtitles) available in the US? I keep hearing about it, but I've never seen it.

(For that matter, how does one see the original Space Battleship Yamato series in the US? Apart from the chopped up Starblazers version?)

I've watched a bunch of anime on Kissanime. Last spring I watched LoGH, Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Fullmetal Alchemist there. There's usually subbed and dubbed versions to choose from.

LoGH is licensed in the US, but has no official release date. I've watched fansubs myself years ago, all 110 episodes. Exactly which series is being released in the US is unclear, most expect the original or do they plan on this reboot. We don't know yet.

Did some research, and I'm gonna rule out Kissanime; I don't go for illegal streaming and don't trust sites that would do that, especially not when they might well attach malware to the same.

But I found that Funimation, which is legit, has Starblazers, though I don't yet know if it's the original or a remake.

No source for LotGH yet…

I've used Kissanime for a while now, mainly for the series that aren't licensed or incomplete. Only 40 some episodes of Sgt. Frog left to go. So it's a relatively safe site, for a bootleg site.
