This summer's holiday to the Netherlands provided an opportunity to visit some well known sites associated with the Market Garden campaign and I have posted some pictures together with personal recollections from those involved and my own thoughts.

Thank you very much for taking the time to put this entry together. It is very informative.

Absolutely cracking write-up JJ.

I love all the photos especially the ones taken at the time, a lot of which I've never seen before.

I'm also thinking of going to Holland next year around this area but near Overloon. My great uncle was in the 3rd Mons, 11th Armoured Division, and was in action at Overloon.

Many thanks for posting – really great stuff.

Lovely photos and you had exceptional weather to explore the area.

The forests are generally the same throughout the country with plenty of trails cutting through them.
Still, you can easily lose your direction.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the read chaps.

Yes indeed, we had glorious weather the whole two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely country, lovely people and great fun.
