Hello guys, I am in the process of painting the Reina Regiment in 1808-10 ish. The unit had silver lace and buttons. Does this mean the officers braid on their Bicornes would be silver? The same on the Bicornes had a rosette with braid going through the centre would this be white and silver (officers)? Also what colour did they paint their guns? Thank you in advance |

The Spanish painted their guns red, if I recall. |

According to Cronin and Summerfield's 'Spanish Cavalry of the Early Peninsular War' (includes Guard and Artillery) the artillery (Gribeauval pieces) were painted blue – a mid-blue rather than the blue-grey of British guns. Metalwork was painted black. |
