driving the old dinosaurs to extinction?

They come on our lawn, play their fancy new games and claim they can see the detail on figures smaller than 54mm…

Winston Smith13 Dec 2017 7:46 a.m. PST

It's those darn video games. They laugh at us when we can't play them, and the humiliation wrecks our immune systems.

Nah. We're being done in by climate change. The meteors of big-budget SF movies and computer games struck the earth, and all the life forms relying on books, history and crafting your own game are having a hard time of it. The smaller, simpler animals who can live on franchise games and invented history are thriving. I'll grant you they're crowding us out of our foraging grounds at the conventions, but if we were in better shape, we'd crowd them out.

Still, the turtles and crocodiles made it. Some of us may yet survive.

This turtle is just pulling in his head and waiting for the next game.

Don't worry about it, evolution happens fast in these here parts. They'll soon be moaning about the next generation, downloading the latest GW figures to print out at home ;)

Who says dinos went extinct?

PS. Anyway, if you can't beat them … eat them.

While others proclaim this new item is the best of all possible worlds I quietly respond, yes but we must cultivate our garden. So I am too busy playing War of 1812 and starting my 1780/1 Rev War campaign to bother with This foolishness.

We older than 40 are rapidly becoming the Dinosaurs of humanity old fart … The still wet behind the ears, young turks, thinking they discovered the world, see us as the old breed, leftovers, something whose time has come and gone … old fart … and they await our deaths.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP13 Dec 2017 1:30 p.m. PST

Nonsense, Legion 4. They're not awaiting our deaths. They won't even notice when we go, mostly.

bobspruster13 Dec 2017 5:03 p.m. PST

I don't think of myself as a 64 year old dinosaur but as a petrified 24 year old.

I have been gradually introducing cockroach DNA into my genetic makeup. I will be able to game through a nuclear holocaust or the next wave of young gamers.
