I can't recommend 'From Tobruk to Tunis' by Neal Dando enough – covers the terrain aspects of the Desert War. Very badly edited, but still readable and superb maps and quotes about the impact of the terrain on both Axis and First and Eight Armies… |

QC – Take advantage of some previous gamer research into the battle by going here - link The site includes a good (expandable) topo map of the area from el Adem in the west to Gambut in the east, and from the coast in the north to well south of Sidi Rezegh. Hope this helps. B |

As much as it pains an Aggie to say it, the Perry-Castaņeda Library Map Collection at the University of Texas is really great. They have really high resolution scan of a huge number of maps of interest to wargames, including the 1940 US Army Map Service 1:100,000 topo maps of Cyrenaica, ( link ). |
