Just got two packs of Exodus Wars Infantry from Shapeways. Took advantage of the Cyber Monday 10% off & Free Shipping. I bought the Marconian Combat Engineers and Command packs. I Chose FUD for casting material. They look just like in the pics on Shapeways. You can see them here link as well as other Exodus Wars models … I'm satisfied at the quality, even if the cost was a bit high … But I bought myself a Christmas present ! |

Are these the old metal exodus war range models and are all the exodus wars stuff going to Shapeways? |

These are EW models that never made it into production. The metal EW models being carried by HLS are a different situation … AFAIK they are not going to Shapeways. And I have not checked lately but IIRC many of the EW models on HLS were to be resupplied(?). |

Looks like there are still some EW models on HLS that need to be restocked … link |

I note these are scaled at 1/285 so fit in nicely with the larger 6mm sci-fi m fi miniatures ranges. I have number of the HLS vehicles that go nicely with my "Vanguard" Imperial troops. I like the look of the heavy Self propelled artillery, so may well be tempted. |

Something I posted on FB and Tac Cmd. May be of some interest to gamers/modelers on TMP. Here's my main complaint with some model makes … Thin ankles and arms sticking too far out are not modelling or gamer friendly. I love the various poses … but e.g. if you look at some figures they are an accident waiting to happen. They might be better in metal than resin, but I have figures with their arm sticking out, etc. And those are hard to keep from breaking, even when painting in some cases. So one has to be very careful. Regardless a note to all model makers, I love detail … but I don't like fragile. And some poses or weapons, etc. are just not strong enough to use with out concern. E.g. I've got some 6mm figs with potato masher/stikk bomm type weapons. I probably wouldn't use them to game with … those would not last long on the gaming table, IMO … 'nuff said ! |
