Mystery solved! The strange sounds coming from my surgery site aren't some sort of alien creature or loose hardware at all. Doc says that this time around (lumbar surgery number six), instead of mixing my bone marrow with finely ground cadaver bone, "the bone graft are more like small croutons, and they will move around some until the area is finally stabilized with brand new bone growth in the next 6-8 months". Yay, I got croutons! (And a couple of huuuuge screws into both hips!) Dan Ps. I only wish his PA had said something about that when I called the office last weekend and I ended up spending several hours at the emergency room for X-rays thinking that all my new hardware had gotten loose. Bashytubits: "You give ‘roll dem bones' new meaning Dan" Ha, you are so right! I still can't believe I've got loud crunchy bits of dead people inside me! Maybe I should have cross-posted this topic to the Zombie Discussion Board. :) Dan PS. I hear dead people. They go crunch, crunch, squish, with each step I take. Crunch, crunch, squish … Crunch, crunch, squish … |

Snap, Crackle, Pop ! You may want ask where/who "them bones" came from. You may have "predilections" for some things you never had before ! I saw it on Sy-Fy ! |

Murphy: "finely ground cadaver bone?" Here ya go. This is it: link It does bring to mind a somewhat medieval image though. :) Dan PS. But I got the croutons this time!

My VA Doc said that I should eat a little more red meat after surgery. So a few steaks and burgers have worked into my menu ! And still does ! I'm just following the doc's orders ! |

My mother in law feels sorry for me and keeps making me steaks and burgers now. Who am I to reject the gesture, right? :) And, believe it or not, all of a sudden I've been craving broccoli and other green vegetables. That's never happened to me before. Never! Dan |

"(…) instead of mixing my bone marrow with finely ground cadaver bone, "the bone graft are more like small croutons, and they will move around some until the area is finally stabilized with brand new bone growth in the next 6-8 months".(…)" The fact that you could hear them leads me to believe that they actually used ground up ear bones… ;-) |

Steak, burgers, and Green veggies are on my menu ! All the time ! Now who knows if them bones you got were from a vegetarian who now because they are dead don't care what they eat. After all … they are dead ! What's the worse that could happen ?!? |
