Surprised the drummer doesn't have reversed colors.

That website is a great resource for 1812 info. Been using it for a while.

British drummers and buglers were deemed too conspicuous in Spain. As a consequence, an order of Septemeber of 1811, "the coats were ordered changed to red, but the actual implimentation of this order seems to have been quite gradual." Ref; Military Uniforms In America: Years of Growth 1796-1851 by The Company of Military Historians, p68.

I also remember through other sources that some regimental colonels refused to change. However, by mid 1812 most regiments converted their drummer coats when they recieved the new 1812 uniform issue (belgic shakos etc.).

I thought musicians in Royal regiments didn't wear reversed colors?

Correct, scarlet; plus the Guard Regiments. Franklin p 119.
