Highly wargaming related!
I've never come across anyone who eats as fast as me.
I easily eat twice as fast as almost anyone. I'm often finished before anyone else are even half done.

I try and eat slower. But it always ends with me being done far head of others (Except when i literally eat twice as much as the others)

So are you a fast eater?

Perris070704 Dec 2017 10:42 a.m. PST

27 years of half-hour lunch breaks have created some bad fast-eating habits in me. I am definitely a "fast eater".

Cacique Caribe04 Dec 2017 10:45 a.m. PST

I used to be. Very fast. Now I'm closer to finish eating right around the same time as the rest of the people I hang out with.

As mentioned above, me too, yes, military related.

rustymusket04 Dec 2017 11:32 a.m. PST

I tend to eat fast but if I concentrate on chewing well, it slows me down. Of course, hot food then cools too much for me to enjoy. Oh, well.

Yes, I was in the Navy where it was a requirement. I can't seem to break the habit now.

For sure

First, oldest of six kids so eat fast or you don't eat

Then, eight years of clinical training – I remember one stint as a junior on-call when I didn't finish a meal for 22 days in a row – so again eat fast or don't eat

Old Wolfman04 Dec 2017 12:04 p.m. PST

After a career in military and civil service, then college teaching where lunch was between classes, yeah…so much so my wife still complains. A gooooood glass of wine slows me down a little.

mumbasa04 Dec 2017 1:13 p.m. PST

41 years of teaching with lunch duty made me a fast eater ;(
Eating between games at Historicon has not helped either ;)

Golgoloth04 Dec 2017 2:30 p.m. PST

Nope. I hate eating fast. I like to savour my food.
That was one of the very few things I disliked in the army.

My poor grandmother would always say "What's wrong, don't you like the food?" And always have to say "Yes, very much, but I eat slowly!"

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP04 Dec 2017 3:21 p.m. PST

Yes I am.

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP04 Dec 2017 3:24 p.m. PST

Well, I'm a only child (well grown siblings) I haven't been in the army nor medical school.

So I have no excuses for eating fast. But I still do.
I don't chew that much. Which will probably be my death one day.

Striker04 Dec 2017 3:34 p.m. PST

Yes. Started in the Corps and never broke the habit.

Bashytubits04 Dec 2017 3:41 p.m. PST

I used to be, now I am a slow boat to china eater.

Cyrus the Great04 Dec 2017 3:55 p.m. PST

No, I'm the last to finish by quite a lot.

Jeigheff04 Dec 2017 5:32 p.m. PST

Yes. I think I learned it from my father.

Toaster04 Dec 2017 9:22 p.m. PST

I was fast before I served, so now it's worse.

Yes, try to slow down but all those years of short lunch breaks (or none) while being a Nurse set a habit in me.

platypus01au05 Dec 2017 4:07 a.m. PST

Growing up with brothers who would steal food, my wife says I eat like a con.

Jozis Tin Man05 Dec 2017 5:29 a.m. PST

Yup, like a lot of you guys above, a leftover habit from the army.

Choctaw05 Dec 2017 8:04 a.m. PST

30 years of clearing from lunch to answer calls. Yep, I'm a fast eater.

andysyk05 Dec 2017 8:50 a.m. PST

Yes, Military background…many people comment on it, I even try to put cutlery down for awhile whilst eating out.. makes no difference.

USAFpilot05 Dec 2017 10:53 a.m. PST

Yes, started when I entered the military.

Raynman Supporting Member of TMP05 Dec 2017 4:21 p.m. PST

Fast eating was one of the things that I picked up in the Army! I eat faster than most of my friends!

Old Contemptibles05 Dec 2017 8:08 p.m. PST

Yes, thanks to the United States Navy.

Chinggis07 Dec 2017 4:12 a.m. PST

As a child, most definitely due to a desire to get back outside and play. Nowadays I enjoy my food more and have slowed considerably.

TodCreasey15 Dec 2017 9:03 p.m. PST

I am a fast eater due mostly to a job where I never get more than 5 minutes to myself and a family always wanting something.
