Hi! First post on TMP.

Just started branching out from FOW and got a large lot of Plains Wars figures on eBay.

The Pony Wars ruleset looks like a lot of fun but can't find a copy of this OOP publication.

Do you have a copy gathering dust that you'd like to sell?

Many thanks!
Bash

If you are dead stuck on the original Pony Wars then have a word with Pete Berry of Baccus.

I believe I have a copy of Pony Wars yet. Let me check and get back on here later.

One of the great rule sets. For sheer inspiration alone it can't be beat. I hope you find one!

Thank you, all, for your replies! Still looking for a copy. I'd be mighty grateful!

Definitely worth contacting Pete at Baccus; about a year ago he was talking about re-releasing the Pony Wars rules IIRC

Not to put a damper on things, but Mr Berry has been talking about that for years and nothing's happened. Not sure whether it's due to copyright issues or lack of interest. It's a shame, because the game deserves a re-release, and 6mm might work quite well for it.

Wasn't able to see any mention of the project on their website, but sent Pete at Baccus an email anyway.

Fingers crossed for a copy from someone…

What are people's opinions about sharing OOP rules? I work in a field (computer games) that is plagued by unauthorized copying, and yet, in this case, I can't really see who is being hurt, especially when the individual in question is willing to buy a copy but cannot find one to buy.

Found a copy in the "vault", if your still interested $20 USD and it's yours. Razordog78@gmail.com

Nick, that can be a tricky issue – copyright extends well beyond the life of the author. I guess I'll have to pull up my copy and see if author placed a copyright mark in the publication. Doesn't need to be registered to be copyrighted – that only helps give legal weight but the copyright still exists.

Having said all that – if no one claims any right and people want it someone will eventually make a copy. The problem is in trying to sell it. Giving away a copy where no money changes hands (other than postage) might not get anyone in hot water.

Sounds like Bash On will get his copy. Though $20 USD bucks is a bit steep for the quality (at least my version) but if you want it bad enough you'll pay.

Good resource. A big part of why I have such a huge number of figures for the period. Don't believe me – look here: whiskeyhills.blogspot.com

Checking my copy, Pony Wars is copyright Ian S Beck, September 1980.

If anyone has a copy I'd be interested in purchasing a copy as well.
