We've reached the final scenario in the campaign, although not necessarily the final game. The Germans can have a few shots at breaking through, although each successful Russian defence pushes the Germans more and more behind schedule. Could the Germans win at first attempt and so claim a major campaign victory? or could the fresh Russian platoon put up a resolute defence?

Having followed this campaign from the outset…what an amazing last game! Excellent use of the mortar barrage by the Germans!

Thanks, really good to know you've been enjoying it. For all the excitement around the right flank and the Flammpanzer, it was the mortar barrage going about its work that may well have been the deciding factor.

Sometimes I find 'tank fear' to be almost more of a factor than the actual tank itself? Mind you I do like the flammpanzer…..?

Indeed . That said in a platoon based game a tank is both a powerful asset and a liability. At CoC ranges a tank is very vulnerable, especially once you get to late war and you see plenty of infantry anti tank weapons. It needs to be used very carefully or it can be quickly lost.
