Fitzgerald returned to Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka, Japan, to repair the pair of punctures caused by the steel support structure on semi-submersible heavy lift transport vessel Transshelf, owned by the Dutch marine conglomerate Royal Boskalis Westminster. The punctures occurred Friday, after Fitzgerald was towed out to deep water and was loading onto Transshelf, according to a statement released by the U.S. 7th Fleet. link |

Oops (though I'm sure stuff like that happens all the time with a heavy-lift hull or a drydock) Poor Fitz, she's going to have a hell of a time getting good crew for a while. |

Too much time spent on sensitivity and diversity training and not enough on seamanship. |

But Uparmored how else will they cope with the damage to the ship? |

Damaged while being loaded into a heavy lift ship. Compared to the rest of the ship it's minor. I'd ding the docking engineer's pay though. |
