Our club rules "Sons of Liberty". There are captions to some of the photos. You have navigate to it, then scroll down.

Great figures and terrain pieces. Not a fan of hexes though.

Superb!

The terrain is made from GeoHex terrain pieces, something I haven't seen for ages, but it still looks good. It was a very creative and innovative terrain system in its day ( long out of business now).

I had lots of GeoHex pieces, but I sold them years ago. My only issue with them was that being made of foam, they were vulnerable to elbows leaning on the table surface that left dimples or depressions on the surface. The tiles could get really beat up if handling care wasn't taken.

Looks good. And not at all like that now . The small plaque to the battle is on the side of the parking lot to the new (2 years ago)Pelham H.S. football field .

Geo-Hex is back in business. I ordered the set in this game a couple of months ago. Here is the new Geo-Hex link.

I could not have done this scenario without Geo-Hex. It is the most innovative terrain system I have ever seen. I don't have the time or space to build and store custom one off terrain.

But with Geo-Hex I can do almost any scenario. I am so glad that Geo-Hex is available again. The Geo-Hex sets I purchased back in the 90s were showing their age. When they went on sale again I bought three green-scape complete sets and a desert set.

Great pics and an interesting battle…any chance of seeing the order of battle you used?

Nice looking game. Last week we played a game where we layed out the Geo-Hex and then put a Cigar Box mat over it. Looked good with out the lines you get from the Geo-Hex.

Geo-Hex is a great system but gets beat up if you have to travel with it.

Old Contemptibles29 Nov 2017 7:12 p.m. PST

That is one of the short comings of the system. My old set got beat up doing convention games. Not hauling that around anymore.

I remember Geo-Hex ads in Wargamers' Digest, back in the day.

Nice-looking battle.

I had a bunch of Geo-Hex that for awhile were of little use after a move of house meant a bigger game table. I was delighted when it became available again and I was able to add to my original set. The colors are not an exact match but close enough.

What i do is use my battle mats (from The Terrain Guy, now sadly out of business) for the base terrain and add my Geo-Hex for contours.

The cons mentioned are too true. I would never expose my Geo-Hex to a convention setting. I need to handle them with care even in my own war room so doubt they would travel well although I have not tried it. And I need to be very vigilant about players NOT putting pressure on the hexes.

Geo-Hex is beautiful. To look at. But the most fragile product in wargaming. I wanted it back in the day. Until I played a few games on it. Damaged pieces in every game – even a light pressure of knuckles leaves permanent dimples. And then there are all those ghastly lines. So, maybe not that beautiful after all. But if you like, have it, and use it, go forward.

I now make most of my terrain out of plywood. And I don't mind throwing it ten feet across a room – as long as there is carpet! Yes, I end up with wedding cake hills. But holy heck is it durable.
