Greetings… Recently bought the old Warmaster book, as wel as the Mighty Armies book. With the price of actual GW blisters on Ebay, what alternates are available for 10mm? I've seen Copplestone, which look nice for Orcs. How do they and the Rebel minis compare? Are there any good alternates for GW style High Elves? |

You might want to look at Eureka. They are doing some 10mm stuff these days too. |

Pendraken only cater for 10mm. Here's a link to their High elves. link |

You could do it in 6mm. I believe the Warmaster figs were in strips like 6mm is…..ease of painting and basing being my point…… Irregular dods both 6mm and 10mm. The 10s are singles, the 6s in strips…. |

Copplestone offers dwarves, orcs (and half-orcs and wolf riders), trolls, and two different types of heroic men , both mounted and foot ("Horse Tribes" and "City", aka Rohan and Gondor style figs), as well as heroes both mounted and unmounted (a wizard, two fighters, an elf, a dwarf, four halflings (count them up), and three additional mounted heroes), and evil heroes (including a wizard and several hooded figures on horseback and winged beasts). Great figs, and the match up well with GW's Warmaster figs. These are my personal favorites for LotR-style Warmaster gaming. Kallistra figs match up well, too, though their dwarves aren't all that dwarf-sized, but rather are the same height as the men, elf, and orc figs. The orcs are a little slight compared to GW's bulkier greenskins, but not that big of a deal, really. Kallistra's figs are the same as Pendraken's, but mounted as strips. Magister Militum also makes 10mm historical figs which can do double duty as fantasy men (or maybe even elves). But as others have noted, Warmaster really isn't all that concerned with the size of the minis. As long as you use 40mmx20mm bases, you can use any scale that will fit, making 6mm and potentially even 15mm figures a viable option. |

Welcome to the madness! I'll take this moment to mention my Warmaster fantasy and ancient paper army unit counters, which can be downloaded at my blog. Let's you play while painting the armies. ordinarygaming.blogspot.com |

If anyone is interested, I found a box full of unpainted Copplestone's 10mm/12mm line of fantasy figures . I'm never going to paint them so I would be interested in selling them. PM me or at Rdfraf (at) aol (dot) com |

Jim nice job there with the Knights, I wonder if they could also be used as bretonnian Knights as well |

@doublesix66 More than likely. My chum has Bretonnians. I'll see what he thinks. |

Just a late thought. Was Warmaster 10mm or 6mm? I just got a couple blisters in the mail, and they are smaller than I remembered… |

If you haven't pulled the trigger on 10mm, Microworld has proxies for most of the armies in very detailed 6mm. Highly recommended! Orcs, Empire, Goblins, Dwarves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Chaos, and High Elves are in the works. Small warmaster armies are about 40$ and a large army for less than 100$. |
