On the Tekumel Facebook page, one of the members asked if there were going to be any EPT games at Fall-In! (this was earlier in the year). I suggested he repost his query when the PEL for Cold Wars would be posted, as there have been a trickle of Tekumel-themed games at HMGS conventions in the last few years.
So I put it to the GMs who have or want to run an EPT session at one of the next few cons--is there a good chance to see more such games, and at which cons could they be expected?

Are you talking about tabletop battles or RPG? Just curious.

capncarp26 Nov 2017 6:01 p.m. PST

@Dale Hurtt: As the cons are HMGS, they would have to be tabletop. And I've seen some pretty ingenious scenarios in this vein; hoping we'll be seeing more.

I usually try to do something in the open gaming area. It is too hit-or-miss whether I can attend to commit to anything official.

I enjoyed reading the material when the game first came out in the late 1970s. The system just never caught on. My distributor even has the book and supplements at 70% off. I just never had any demand so I do not stock it.

I am hoping to bring figures for some skirmish level games to Con of the North. I couldn't commit, so they won't be on the schedule, but the Tekumel track has a space, and open slots in the first time slot each day, so I am hoping to set some stuff up then. No solid plan. Just hoping to get some figures on the table.

Probably try something with "Song of…" rules, and maybe pulp alley.

RudyNelson, your distrib has original stuff at 70% off? or Swords and Glory? or Tristat? or Bethorm? (ok, my point is there are a lot incarnations out now..). PM me.. oh, wait, I am lapsed again..

I will check. I think it is under the Clash of Arms company. So which edition is that.

I still remember the miniatures being heat shink wrapped and later in multicolored packaging, back in the 1970s.

I just checked. A lot of sold out items. Only four books left. Three were from a Solitaire system (red, green and blue covers) and the fourth item was the Swords and Glory volume 1 book.

I'm going to be running some EPT games at this upcoming Gary Con:

The Eternal Palace of Ketbu Horodashu

Enter Prof. M. A. R. Barker's word of Tekumel. A scholar-priest hires you to help explore a recently uncovered ruin deep within the Bey Su underworld. Believing it is the long-lost tomb of a fabled ancient sorcerer, your patron promises a generous share of any riches within. What wonders or terrors will be found within the Eternal Palace of Ketbu Horodashu? Characters and miniatures provided.

I've run this adventure at previous conventions and I'll be running it once per day at GC. I'm seriously considering talking to the Tekumel Foundation about publishing it after I've worked out the kinks. I was planning to run a game set in the Latter Times, but I'm not going to have it ready by March.

How easy is it to still get figures for this?

altfritz29 Nov 2017 4:28 p.m. PST

RudyNelson. You mean Noble Knight? Clash of Arms has Gardasiyal, the Bestiary and the Book of Ebon bindings, IIRC.

Rudysnelson29 Nov 2017 6:20 p.m. PST

It is clash of Arms with this distributor. They do not stock Noble Knight.

I do not doubt your info either. I do not carry it so I do not plan to get any.

Ah, Altfritz, the stew thickens as more innocents are added to the bubbling cauldron of Tekelumani intrigue: their curiosity will plunge them deeper until they, too, are ensorcelled by its shades, shadows, hints, and innuendos. Fools! They have no hint of the mind-shattering revelations that will burst upon their fragile mortal minds! Nga!

Thanks Howard, I was admiring your blog over the weekend.
