A few points: Your Cauchiques will need some back banners. They are the distictive (and unpronounceable) "chicunauhpanquetzalitzi" banners…..whew!
You have Jaguar/tzitzimitl warriors. The tzitzimitl is actually the name of a "demon suit" worn by rulers and senior officers. This fellow would be more appropriate with your command figures. He should also have a pretty banner, according to his status. The guy in the white tzitzimitl suit below is wearing a three vaned style of "teocuitlapantli" banner, I believe.
Also, just to be pedantic, Huaxtex warriors were not Aztecs. They were the enemy. However, a certain rank of Aztec priest wore a suit called a "cuextlecatl" which was modelled after the distictive conical headwear of the Huaxtec warriors. However, your figures will represent both well. See the middle figure below.
Sorry for the nit-picking, but this is a topic near and dear to me. I must say that your figures are cracking! (Hope I used that term correctly). And that from a 28mm fan. |

Oops….edit. Sorry, just saw your "standards" sculpts. The leftmost standard will do for the chicunauhpanquetzalitzi back banner of the cuachiqueh. However, I believe the standard, second to the right, is actually a Mayan standard. As far as I know, the Aztecs didn't employ standards as we understand them. I think you mean these to be back banners. |

This could be a great range with the 500th anniversary f Cortes' victory approaching and the Mexican government staging some colorful festivities. Any chance this range with be expanded to include Aztec enemies like theTlaxcalan (fantastic bird back banners), Huaxtecs, Zapotec, etc? |
