Greetings Folks, quick rule question for playing 30k.

So I was a 40k player from roughly 1987 to 2000ish. The release of the 30k miniatures convinced me to get back in the game.

The main question I have is as follows: If I've read correctly, the current edition of 40k is 8th, which generally seems to have very good reviews.

But, it appears there is a 30k specific rule book coming out in 2018 that is going to be 7th edition 40k rules. Is this right?

If so, which would veteran players suggest I use? The new 8th edition, or the 30k specific 7th edition?

Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any clarity and advice.

All of the 30K campaign books will be written for 6th/7th edition.

You could easily adapt them to 8th but it will take some work whereas they are already compatible with the rulebook that will be coming out.

For what it is worth we use 3rd edition and just import some of the special rules.

Hi

The large Forge world books are special rules,Fluff, and army lists. They have Smaller army list books for the various campaigns.
