As the title states; I want a M1165 HMMWV (or maybe two) and a MK-23/MK-25 MTVR (or perhaps 3) in 28mm. Can anyone suggest a manufacturer who makes these? As all my vehicles currently are in 1/56 scale I am looking for these in the same scale. 1/48 scale will not work. I am looking to build a battery from 10th Marines for a scenario and want the transport vehicles as well as the FDC support vehicles. Any suggestions for manufacturers of these vehicles is appreciated.

Would a M1114 Humvee be close enough? Company B makes one:

I don't know any good source for the MTVR, unless you are up to converting. For conversion fodder, you could look at a 1/56 WWII deuce and half, or maybe a Siku diecast. But of course neither would be an exact match.

Thanks for the suggestion willthepiper, but the turret on top of the M114 wouldn't work. I really wish I was better at conversions because then perhaps your recommendations could work. Unfortunately, I am crap at conversions. But again, thanks for the suggestions.

i think the nearest you will get is a 1/56th m35 6x6, we make the mtvr in 1/72 only.

I tried to source modern civilian vehicles for modern Afghanistan gaming – once I ruled out 1/43 as too big, I found pretty slim pickings out there, especially for trucks. My jingle trucks are based on WWII vehicles – completely wrong era, but all the gamers see is the brightly painted vehicle and the understanding that it's a civvie cargo truck. From a strictly wargaming perspective, something that looks like an army truck should be a suitable proxy for the MTVR. However, if you are building an accurate diorama, then you may need to consider a different scale. Good luck!

Thanks folks. I'm looking to build up a force for some skirmish scenarios involving USMC artillery units either dealing with a break through of the lines or a Spetznaz raid or something along those sorts. The gamers who will be playing these scenarios are primarily active duty Marines who have a critical eye when it comes to USMC equipment in miniature. ;-) I have a source for the M777 guns which I am eager to receive so perhaps, since it will be skirmish games, the trucks will need to be off board. This will only leave me the HMMWV vehicles for the FDC, but then again as the FDC is typically placed a couple hundred yards away from the guns, I can fudge that too.

If getting the kit right is important, you should consider a different scale – I think most of what you are looking for is available in either 15mm or 20mm sizes – with the bonus that the smaller scales tend to be less expensive as well!

Unfortunately, I have way too much already in 28mm to change. Empress Miniatures are pretty good and pass muster. It's the odd support vehicles that are hard to find. Oh well.

I know where you are coming from :^) I was drawn in by Eureka's civilians and ANP, and I'm not ready to change scales either!

Maybe you can find a modeler to kit-bash? It's amazing what can be done with plasti-card.
