Hello folks, A little help? Can anyone tell me where to buy sheets of 2mm MDF in the USA? I have access to a laser cutter, and would like to make my own figure bases. I've been googlin' and so far, no luck! I dont need big 'ole 4x8ft sheets, my cutter only goes up to 2ftx1ft, but i can rip down larger sheets if l need to. Thanks in advance for any help! John |

For a while I was able to buy 1/8" and 1/4" MDF in 2' x 4' sheets at Home Depot. But now for some reason they do not carry the 1/8" any more, just the 1/4". At least locally. That has been the only source I have found for thinner MDF so far. No help I know. Rufus |

Try contacting TablesByDavis@gmail.com (not me). He is prepping to sell lots of 12 x 12" squares of MDF. Not sure of the thickness, however. He has plenty of them to sell. If they're the proper thickness, you may be able to work out a deal by ordering larger lots. His asking price is $24.99 USD/set of 12, plus $14 USD S/H, Priority Mail w. Tracking, USPS, domestic. Best of luck! Cheers! |

The only luck I've had finding thin MDF is from poster frames, so maybe a frame shop? |

Door skins might work for you? Essentially the pretty layer of plywood. Try a cabinet supply or custom cabinet maker. We have one here in town and I know they carry thin MDF for drawer botyom replacement. |

its very hard to get hold of. it was used for curved panels or as backing board for frames but seems to have fallen out of favour. this product may be the closest we can get Grafix Medium Weight Chipboard Sheets link |

You cannot buy it at Home Depot or Low's. I've tried. I've found it for sale on line in small pieces but, it is quite expensive that way. Bundles of 5 foot by 10 foot and 100 count are very economical though… I've switched to 1/8 inch 4' X 8' hard board which both Home D and Low's carry. Harder to work with but way cheap. And they will make 2 or 3 cuts so, it is a manageable size for you and at no added cost. |

Go to the service desk at Home Despot. Easy peasy. They should be able to get what you need. |

Toledo plywood and many other specialty plywood locations offer 1/8 inch marine grade birch plywood for roughly $13 USD a sheet in 5 ft by 5 ft sheets. While it is 3mm instead of 2mm it makes great bases and miniature terrain. |
