…on Ground President Donald Trump's troop surge in Afghanistan has essentially been completed, boosting the number of service members on the ground from 11,000 to 14,000, the Pentagon said Thursday. "We've just completed a force flow into Afghanistan," Marine Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the Pentagon's Joint Staff Director, said at a news conference. "The new number for Afghanistan is now approximately 14,000 — might be a little above that, might be a little below that, as we flex according to the mission," he said…." Time to bring them home. They only know how to grow hoppy seeds and shoot people so they will continue to live in the past. |

Several other NATO countries will also increase the number of deployed troops. |

Ultimately the Afghan people themselves will have to take back their country, their culture, their religion, their democracy from the Taliban and ISIS and whoever else wants to take these things from them. If they dont have the steel for that fight then no amount of our support will ever substitute. They'll have to earn their country and their freedom with blood sweat and tears – as our ancestors, in the West, did for us. And it wont be easy, nothing worth having ever is. |

I'm to the point that I don't think enough Afghans want a nation as we define such. If they're happy as a tribal people, so be it. But, as we're leaving, we should make it plain they do not want to entertain our attackers another time. Lest we return, never to leave again… |

The trouble is for all the sacrifice made honourably by fighting men, the west supported a corrupt establishment-maybe it was the only choice but its corrupt. Get out it is not worth another life in support. People have to become responsible for their own. Why are so many young men coming out of war zones in the world as asylum seekers? Asking someone else to go in and regain their country? Why are they not in arms? why is any man 50 or under not in arms dealing with the oppressors? The over 50's can deal with the women and kids.(Personally Id say the over 65's) You want asylum here? whilst our young men go to youre country and fight? look I will give you training, equip you and support you and you can fight. Oh no that's against Human Rights, our young men will go, we will give you a house, pay you for not working and when our boys come back they can live on the streets. |

Let's hope that some of the rival nations on the ground keep out of each other's way. Dan TMP link |

nsolomon the afghans have been kicking out foreign occupiers with their own blood sweat and tears since Alexander the Great. There aren't many people with as mmuch steel in them. |

Steel? If only they'd stop wearing those silly flattened opium poppy or Alien egg hats. :) Dan
