Minor little humor moment from the local library where I work.

Our regular weekend D&D group has now split into two groups operating simultaneously (makes for very interesting disconnect as I overhear entirely different adventures going on). The second group has some newer players, one of whom approached me the other day.
Teen: "I have a problem, Mr. Howard. I need your help."
Me: "Well, what can I help you with?"
Teen: "I don't have my character sheet."
Me: "Okay. Did you leave it here?"
Teen: "No, I left it at home."
Me: "Well, I can't do anything about that."
Pause while we both look at each other.
Me: "…So, do you need a blank character sheet? I can print one out."
Teen: "No, the DM has those."
Me: "Okay, so what do you need?"
Teen: "I don't remember all the stats for my character."
Me: "Oh."
Another pause.
Me: "Do you need a copy of Player's Handbook so you can look up your character class information?"
Teen: "No, we've got that, too."
Me: "Well, what do you want my help with?"
Teen: "I don't know."
Teen then goes back to the game.

I was left to wonder if he wanted me to cast Dimension Door, Teleport, Clairvoyance, or Telepathy to retrieve the lacking sheet.
Maybe I should have shouted "Accio character sheet!"
But alas, I did not have a wand handy, and that would have been the wrong milieu anyway.

grin

I'm a teacher and I get that stuff all the time. Kids!

When our group's kid (he's 20, but…) did that, he called home and his sister sent him a photo of it to his phone, with some pithy comments added to the sheet…

Pfff, some wizard you are Howard.:) You should have told him that those spells weren't in your spellbook.:) Thanks for that, put a smile on my face.

BTW: Another book coming your way, be on the lookout.

Thanks for all the books and stuff! The kids love it all.
