Do you plan on starting a new wargaming project, period or genre in 2018?

Lascaris17 Nov 2017 7:41 p.m. PST

15mm WW1 in Mesopotamia. A period/locale that has interested me for a very long time.

PrivateSnafu17 Nov 2017 7:45 p.m. PST

Yup. Gladiators.

Rich Bliss17 Nov 2017 7:46 p.m. PST

Probably not starting. But I'm thinking about greatly expanding an existing period, Late War WWII.

Yes. Yet to be determined.

Taiping rebellion
Us/Phillipine war
GNW.
all in the running.

Finishing one here too: polishing my STALKER-themed post apocalyptic rules and finish painting the associated collection of figs and terrain.

liborn17 Nov 2017 8:30 p.m. PST

Finish all previously started projects! PERIOD!

BW195917 Nov 2017 9:11 p.m. PST

How about restarting, getting back into a period I had sold off. (ACW Naval)

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP18 Nov 2017 4:03 a.m. PST

Nope. Plan on just finishing the many unfinished projects & continue to cull the lead pile on the Marketplace.

sneakgun18 Nov 2017 4:34 a.m. PST

Necromunda and more Blood Bowl…and Vikings…

Plan to? No. Will I? Most likely. As well as adding to existing genres, there are a lot of related genres that I will probably look into. And there's always the prospect of something new catching my eye.

KSmyth18 Nov 2017 7:00 a.m. PST

Sort of. I'm broadening my America Rampant project to include the Indian Wars in the Northwest Territories. Battle of the Wabash for Enfilade 2019.

My plan is as it has been for decades … keep assembling and painting all my 6mm Sci-fi. Until the day I die … huh?

TMPWargamerabbit18 Nov 2017 10:10 a.m. PST

Finally base and start gaming with my British napoleonic era army. Been collecting dust since YR2010 for final basing, labelling, and any final paint touch up corrections. Then into the Peninsular historical scenarios with my Allied armies against the French.

Not starting any new periods until I finish off my Dark Africa armies and then my 15mm Napoleonic armies. Both of these projects are about 85-90% done with just some figures only needing touch up and then basing. So close, yet so far away…

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP18 Nov 2017 2:57 p.m. PST

Great heavens no! Complete some projects and sell off others, and I won't do enough of either. I have more armies than I play games in a year.

The objective is about half a dozen period/scale combinations, and everybody gets in a game about every other month. I am far from that.

Wulfgar18 Nov 2017 6:25 p.m. PST

This is the year that I want to finish up a couple of old ones. No new projects.

My past record shows that I jump into a new historical period about every 6 or 8 months. So, yes I will undoubtedly become obsessed and enamored with yet another one in 2018!

Silurian18 Nov 2017 9:01 p.m. PST

I hear the Indian Mutiny calling my name.

Frostie19 Nov 2017 3:56 p.m. PST

New projects I will be doing…..may be. There are a couple of projects for a painter I use.

For me I will be finish off my Battle of Raphia project, nearly 2000 Xyston figures plus 17 elephants! I have quite a lot painted already but still hundreds to paint and nearly everything to base.

GamesPoet Supporting Member of TMP20 Nov 2017 7:43 a.m. PST

Will be working on current projects, no new ones.

RebelPaul20 Nov 2017 10:50 a.m. PST

28mm in WWII and Napoleonics

Old Contemptibles20 Nov 2017 1:01 p.m. PST

I hope to finish off my AWI project. My next project will be 15mm Napoleonics at battalion unit scale. Don't know if that will happen in the new year or not.
