I have been on a painting frenzy of late building up the cavalry component of my SYW Russian army. The figures are largely Minden Miniatures plus a few RSM and Connoisseur figures.

Click on the link below to see more pictures of the individual regiments and cavalry types (cuirassiers, horse grenadiers, dragoons, hussars and Cossacks).

You won't get all of them in a shoebox.

Well done, great figures.

Boy, that sure is a nice collection you have there!

How you have all the time to paint them, must have spent a decade at least.
( kidding of course,)

Thank you for all the kind comments. I'm retired now so I can usually finish 12 cavalry figures in 2 to 3 days now.

Amazing stuff. Could easily break a 200 000 strong orc army.

Jim,

Even more great looking units!!

But you better watch that pair of Cossacks in the left rear. They look a little too cozy with each other. grin

12 cavalry figures in two or three days? How many hours is that, I assume retirement comes with other activities.

jocknroll22 Nov 2017 10:10 a.m. PST

Maintaining the Gold Standard there Jim.
I doff my tricorne to you!

It takes me, on average, an hour to paint a single figure complete from start to finish. Of course I don't paint figures one at a time. From time to time I will keep a,time log on a,group of 12 figures and the total time divided by 12 is usually close to 60 minutes per figure.

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP23 Nov 2017 12:47 a.m. PST

Is that with or without the horse?

Personal logo Der Alte Fritz Sponsoring Member of TMP23 Nov 2017 11:35 p.m. PST

That is for a foot figure only. Add maybe 10-15 more minutes for the horse.
