If so, does it have a picture or slogan on it?

What do they say?

Dan
PS. My wife's says "No coffee no talkie". Mine says "I prefer dogs over people".

Rudysnelson16 Nov 2017 12:19 p.m. PST

No, not a coffee drinker.

Mick the Metalsmith16 Nov 2017 12:21 p.m. PST

Beer always tastes better in a glass with writing on it. Unless you are wearing the logo on a tee shirt inwhich case the flavour enhancement is redundant.

Cacique Caribe16 Nov 2017 12:21 p.m. PST

Rudy

Tea then? Cup of soup? Beer? :)

"Favorite" might vary, but the last one used reads "I'd rather be historically accurate than politically correct."

(Thank you Abbot.)

Lol. Where can I get that one?!?!? :)

I have some with military unit emblems, but those are more for decoration. Right now, I normally use one of these:

For tea, I prefer something large :

I'm sure this information will be of great interest to the masses.

What T3S scene is that?

My two favorite coffee mugs were given away at conferences I attended as Safety Manager and AutoCad guru.
They meant that my boss considered me a Big Shot. grin

JimDuncanUK16 Nov 2017 12:52 p.m. PST

Yes, all my favourite mugs have pictures or slogans on them.

Hafen von Schlockenberg16 Nov 2017 1:05 p.m. PST

CC--I'm not sure; the mug doesn't say (and it was a gift from my brother), but I'm guessing "Back to the Woods":

(There you go again, sending me off on yet another Google search--and right after all that Jack Chick stuff, too. You're mean, I tell ya,mean! In fact, I'm so angry right now, I need a big cup of tea in my Angry Donald mug. I'm drinking it as I type!)

One of my favorites has a quote from Henry Ford: "Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right"

Coffee mug, had made by a chap on Vancouver island with sea foam green and blue, no writing.

I have a bistro style Jack Skellington mug

Dan I bought mine at an HMGS flea market. I think National Review sold them, and may still.

Thanks!

Yes, it has no words on it and is a simple coffee mug. But it is one that was salvaged from a wrecked ship that I investigated, so it has special significance for me :)

Cacique Caribe16 Nov 2017 2:19 p.m. PST

David

A wrecked ship? That's awesome.

Now I'm intrigued. How old a wreck? In what waters did it sink?

Mine is a Lewis and Clark mug from the 200th anniversary a few years back. Can't remember where I got it. It easily holds the 10 ounces from my Kurig plus cream and sugar. No stirring spills.

Legbiter16 Nov 2017 2:44 p.m. PST

Definitely. It's *YOU*, and I think you'll find it's *YOUR* round :-)

In the South, tea is in a glass. I do have some Coca Cola plastic glasses from the 1980s. LOL.
The most unusual mug that my wife has is from Washington State of a waterfall on it. I got it during an evaluation tour of chemical storage depots for the DoD.

The Beast Rampant16 Nov 2017 3:03 p.m. PST

I have a glass stein/mug I got from Long John Silvers many, many years ago (does anyone still do the promotional glasses thing anymore?).

Hey look, I found it, thanks Google:

picture

It has an "etched" schooner on it, along with a paragraph of charmingly generalized info on said vessel. I keep it in the freezer so it stays frosty.

I used to have more with other ships represented, but this is the only one left after all these years. As I recall, it was easily my least favorite ship of the lot, but such is life. It remains my favorite drinking vessel. This concludes Thursday's Show and Tell.

I like to put it on leather coaster that says "LOIS" under a picture of blindfolded Lady Justice. I think it was a gift from someone who was trying to sell me some office or computer thing 20-odd years ago.

My favorite to-go mug was a $2.50 USD special from Walgreens -- white plastic, screw-on lid, silicon grip. It fit the small cup holder of my old car and never spilled a drop. We had two of them for several years, but my wife lost both over a four-month period earlier this year. I am sad.

14Bore16 Nov 2017 4:22 p.m. PST

I do, it's a brown ceramic set so have 6 but other than a very large blue mug its pretty much the only thing I drink my morning coffee with for years.

I have a favourite tea mug that is large, white and has hokie Canadian outdoor cartoons on it

Bashytubits16 Nov 2017 5:16 p.m. PST

Somehow when Dan mentions his favorite mug, this image appeared in my minds eye.

If you are interested there is a site on cafepress which sells coffee mugs with historical regimental flags. My kids get me some each year and they are very nice.

Website is at;

I have a mug from the USS Iowa, with the ship's crest. A Navy friend gave it to me when the ship was still in commission.

My mug just has the word GEEK written on it in bold capitals. It was a present from an old boss.

Pictors Studio17 Nov 2017 6:33 a.m. PST

I don't have a particular one but more of a kind. I like glass mugs. They don't have writing on them.

I have two favorites, one is a Peanuts cup with a picutre of a very forlorn looking Charlie Brown. The other is a SciFi Channel cup.

SWMBO and I have fave coffee mugs. Mine is an owl and hers is a fox – a bad omen and a trickster spirit from Japanese mythology.

My favourite beer mug is one where someone else is paying.

Andrew Walters17 Nov 2017 9:01 a.m. PST

For Father's Day my daughter got me a mug that says "My Dad was right about everything!" It holds 24 oz, so I need to use three tea bags to brew in it.
