Looks good but can it fight. That remains to be seen. Actually, I think it's being built as a proof-of-concept, and for crew and skilled worker training. The idea is that when everyone knows what to do on the little Type 001A, they'll build a bigger and better supercarrier for actual combat ops. Outside of the USN, the PLAN is pretty much the only navy who can afford to buy a multi-billion dollar warship and use it in a training role. And that, IMO, is probably the scariest thing about this ship. |

Most Sailors will tell you that EVERY ship in the USN is a training platform that occasionally gets sent to blow something up. It's the only way you keep a competent crew. My subs ran 3 hours of drills a day, 5 days a week! |
