Abortion humor? |

Otto is just being condescending to the lower classes. The riffraff. That sounds familiar. Remember the time he put that woman in her place for messing up a store display? Oh. I'm sorry. Am I picking on a man when he's down? Not really. That would be if I were picking on him while he's in the DH. In this case, he's too proud to take the simple remedial steps expected of him to be allowed to return. I don't blame him for that. In his mind, he was wronged. Who among us can disagree? He won't be back because he doesn't want to come back. In my case way back, I firmly believe that I was wronged also. My approach was different. I simply made myself a pain in the ass with sock puppets. Then, an Armistice was granted. No groveling. No promises. Merely a return to status quo ante. |

Winston: "In this case, he's too proud to take the simple remedial steps expected of him to be allowed to return." Bill, does the same go for Hafen? Is the ball in his court? Dan |

Otto is just being condescending to the lower classes. The riffraff. I don't believe he thinks that way … I've never had any reason to think that or anything really negative coming from him. At least in my experience … |

Some people who have been sentenced to "have a conversation with Gwen" don't think they've done anything and resent the implication that they have. I suspect, without knowing, that some resent the Maoist self-abnegation that this procedure entails. Despite what I think of him personally, I respect that Otto is a proud man and doesn't want to put up with this. |

I respect that Otto is a proud man and doesn't want to put up with this. Agreed … |

Winston: "I suspect, without knowing, that some resent the Maoist self-abnegation that this procedure entails." I've heard it called many things before now, but never that. Dan |

Some people who have been sentenced to "have a conversation with Gwen" don't think they've done anything and resent the implication that they have. Some would be offended by anything we did. Having a talk with Gwen to help them understand what the problem is, is much better than putting people in the Dawghouse over and over and their behavior never changes. |

Just an aside, I read what he wrote on the other site and did not find it aimed at 'rednecks' or the 'lower' classes. he was making an observation on the game and his 'abortion' comment was not a joke (except as dark comedy and a bit of social satire) but a point as to what would make it hit home with the folks who would be buying the game in order to mock the subject matter. |

"I respect that Otto is a proud man and doesn't want to put up with this" Too Doggone bad! The site is not is by a business. If you do not like the way the rules are enforced, or think there is a lack of fairness, a lack of clarity, or a lack of anything else, vote with your feet and move on. Sorry but all this moaning about someone being banned or forced to talk to an editor sounds like a bact of 12 year old adolescents screaming about their first amendment rights that do not apply here. |

Otto is just being condescending to the lower classes. The riffraff. Good god man, how is one expected to treat the lower orders? Certainly not as our social equals. As to his comments on schadenfreude, I regret it is only schadenfreude that allow me to cope with the ennui and cynicism |

Well we all have to be aware. We can all express our opinions, thought, feelings, etc., as long as it is done without vitriol, derision, mean spiritedness, etc. Agreeing to disagree seems to me to be the best solution. Unless someone just wants to be a … and cause problems, etc. And we all know about those sort of "incidents" … |
