Alnavco 1/2400 ships that are now 40 years old. Some minifigs in strips approaching that age.

15mm Alsop Old Glory Austrian Line infantry in Helmet bought around 1987. Finally were painted 2 yrs ago. They still have some brother n, in the original bags ( 100), waiting their turn!
Why- Too big a pile, then starting family/having Children, then bike racing plus 10 yr break from Hobby, then starting again but with Russian Army, then Prussian, then a British Army…
15mm 1982 Hertiage DoW still in the queue! Why because I have lots and lots of OG to paint up first.

Can't say. It's ongoing. The first miniature I was ever given (a 25mm Minifig lancer) is still unpainted! :-)

I'm just behind Florida Tony. Hinchcliffe 25mm French Voltigeurs from 1973, so 44 years old. Cost me 7.5p (£0.075) each in the blue cardboard boxes.

Trajanus02 Nov 2017 7:30 a.m. PST

Like Florida Tory I've got to the point of acceptance, that probably comes with age, that some stuff will never get painted.

I'm not ready for that Great Table in the sky yet but realism is taking hold.

I blame playing with the same guys for 25 years who are prolific painters, to at least the same and slightly above, my level and can't resist doing both sides in any given period.

Kinda knocks down the incentive somewhat!

The first metal figures I ever bought (1975 – Hinchcliffe Greek Hoplites) are still unpainted. They were superceded, first by the Carthaginians I bought in '75 or '76, then by a Minifigs Greek army I bought second-hand in about 1980.

PS I am still painting the Carthaginians ……

Like many, still got unpainted figures from first project. Back in late 80s…

I have yet to touch my Imperial Dragon, RAFM casting. Been away for 25 years. My guess is some stuff from the late '70s still new in package.

I still have miniatures that haven't been painted, so who knows?

But painted after bought: I painted some of the peasants I bought to make a medieval (Arthurian themed) chess set and used them right away, but the rest of the miniatures for the chess set had to wait until I found the perfect, magnetized, foldable board, which took c. a quarter of a century. Then the rest got painted and the chess set finished, and I brought back the peasants as pawns that I had been using all that time. :)

I've got figs I bought in '94 and still haven't painted and a few I painted back then that still haven't seen the table.

However, longest from purchase to table was probably a blister of necromunda scum. Purchased it when it came out ('96 I think?). FInally painted them 2 years ago got them on the table.

20 years, geez…

Lets just say years.

Definitely over 30 years. But no point in rushing these things.

I'm thinking about repainting a Hinchliffe System 12 cottage I bought at a "Waterloo Day" in London in 1975. I was 11 then, I'm 54 now …

Are we talking lead here? I have some unpainted Minifigs 25mm from late 1968, but in plastic, I have some Airfix ACW -from too long ago to remember. These are all individual figures, however, but if we are talking complete armies, I still have an unpainted Minifig 15mm Assyrian army from about 1982 ?

COL Scott ret04 Nov 2017 8:23 p.m. PST

I too have some unfinished units of Airfix Napoleonic and a few ACW. They were bought in the 70's and I still intend to complete them.

25 years and I am 44. I believe in the old rule that you cannot live to an old age unless you have 50 years of unpainted lead :-)

WKeyser09 Nov 2017 4:58 a.m. PST

Great to hear guys, my lag time is about average from 10-30 years.
