I'm working on a project that will require some AWI regulars, and I've decided on plastics. I've worked with some Perry plastic figures and liked 'em, but I'm also looking at Warlord figures. Any suggestions about which are easier to work with? Thanks in advance for your help. Sorry I know this thread already sort of appears, but the it was attacked by the bug and infested. |

Plastics and easy to work with don't go together. If I had to chose I would go with Perry, but you might also look at the Old Glory 2nd editions, they look a lot like Perrys and are dirt cheap maybe same as plastic. link |

Her are some I painted up. I spayed them with a tan/khaki, painted faces guns and bags then did the minwax wash on them. Took me about three hours to do 20. link |

My AWI have both in plastic. The only problem I have is the Warlord figs tend to be a quarter of a head taller and I hate the supplied bases. So all my troops are mounted on Rendera stands, two to a base. The stands have metal washers on the bottoms to get "fixed" unto a magnetic sheet in their boxes. The Perry stands gets a thicker washer which brings them up even with the Warlord. Perry is easier to assemble but Warlord gives more pose optionS. Each mfg is based in units exclusively with others of its kind. The overall effect leaves me pleased. But then I'm a chep date. H |

@GROSSMAN, Nice, really nice job on those continentals in the hunting shirts! That's an awesome level of detail and shading and shows you can do a decently sized unit of soldiers in not that much time. |
