"Can anyone be more Russian than a Romanov tsar? Well, get ready for some surprising genealogy facts about the imperial dynasty.

Have a look at the picture below – can you guess which one is the Crown Prince of Russia, and which one is the future King of Great Britain?…

By my count it was broken twice, but couldn't rattle it off by memory exactly.
Now to check the link.

I seem to recall reading elsewhere that Nicholas II was 1/284th Russian.

And 100% unqualified for the job. Ironically, that would have applied under a Socialist system, as well.

I'm fully aware of European royalty and their marrage arrangements, I was taliking about total breakage of blood lines.

I have always wondered the same thing about the last of the Ottomans, how Turkish were they?

So when the George's came over to rule England, how much English blood did he have?
What about William?

George I was the nearest surviving Protestant relative to the Stuarts, being a second cousin of Queens Mary and Anne and a great-grandson of James I (there were more than 50 Catholics more closely related by blood, but excluded). Thus we're talking Scottish/British, rather than English.

William III was married to Mary, daughter of James II; that (and his Protestantism) was his only qualification.

Royal families are only "Russian", "French", "English" or "Spanish" in the loosest of terms. In Spain our present incumbent has Italian, Portuguese, French, Greek, German and English blood. The heiress, Princess Leonor, is full Spanish on her mother' side, though.

Republicans in the UK like to describe the present Queen as "German" ignoring her Scottish mother and part-English father, or that six previous generations of her ancestors were born in England, or that scores of family members have served in the armed forces (quite a lot of them in the front line).

But suggest that the latest home-grown Islamic atrocity junkie "wasn't really British" and the same people will call you a racist pig. Go figure……
