Not my choice of events. Either or both Lake Erie or Lake Champlain had to be included. Drop the one-sided captures of the President and Macedonian.

I'd never heard of the capture of the USS President (captained by Decatur no less) so that was of interest to me!

Article doesn't profess to cover the whole war, just picks 4 events. The site looks really useful with links to info on the revolutionary war, war of 1812 and the civil war.

I don't know why anyone would try to hide that one… Sure, the USF President was captured but, one British Frigate crippled, another torn up a bit and the only reason Decatur surrendered was he was unable to run (damage to the false keel) and hopelessly out-numbered and out-gunned…
