Nice. Though I still struggle with the point of laser cutting (or even injection molding) stuff made from scrap. Card. Knife. Glue. Done. Plus you can use real wire and pipe and such.

Why was the beer so popular?…

I like the Kustom Workshop a lot.

Card. Knife. Glue. Done.

Don't forget the part that comes before that – planning the design and then working out the geometry, then transferring the templates to the card, balsa, foam board, or whatever.

As someone who works 60 hours a week and has 2 small kids, I'll take the laser cut kit.

I like the Smack Bar. Agree with both H Man and Alpha. If you have the time and skill Or terrain is a fun thing to scratch build and I would note you still have to assemble themed and paint it. Sill, when pressed for time anything that can gain you that time is welcome.

-1 alpha3six.

You may have solved your own problem.

Get your kids to make it (unless they are too young to weild safty sissers) Orc stuff usually looks like they have made it anyway. Also a fun way to involve them in dad's hobby.

I do understand some people don't want to build terrain. After all not everyone sculpts figures either.

As far as planning and designing…

Just have fun sticking bits on.

You can always just look at a few pics of terrain for inspiration. Dont expect the sistine chapel on your first attempt. But you will soon get the hang of it.

alpha3six is spot on.

This is one afternoon of building MDF terrain.

You could probably get it mostly painted in a day or two and then you are playing.

Or one with card and scissors. Tomato tomato.

You could buy and use black card, then just paint and dry brush to taste. If you do use laser cut mdf perhaps paint it black first. Then you wont notice bits you cant reach with a brush. Same goes for plastic, even card, hence using black card.
