Howdy! This year at Fall In, Lancaster, I will be running games of Disposable Heroes II. The theme for Fall In this year is The Yanks Arrive! For that theme, these games are scenarios based on the actions of the US 95th Division in WWII. The action follows the path of my Grandfather's Unit, the 378th Infantry Regiment (he was an FO and worked in the fire control center), and their first engagements with the fortifications around Metz.

The games are to demo the Disposable Heroes II rules and promote the release of Blood & Guts (the US Army in WWII for DH II).

If you have wanted to give Disposable Heroes II a try, here is your chance! As the author of the rules and the US Army book, I can help you with any questions on the system too.

Here are the details of the scenarios:

Friday November 3

Event Title: The Iron Men of Metz (Game 1: Fremecourt Farm)
Theme Game: Yes
Prize: Yes (TBD)
Running Time: 5pm-7pm
Players: 4
Period: WWII
Scale: 28mm
Rules Used: Disposable Heroes II
Event Description: The Yanks of the 95th Division, 378th Infantry Regiment are on the offensive. To Push out of the Moselle Bridgehead, they must push through towards Ft. Lorraine. A well defended farm held by the Germans stands in their way. The Yanks are supported by elements of the 735th Tank Battalion.

Saturday November 4

Event Title: The Iron Men of Metz (Game 2: Fort Feves)
Theme Game: Yes
Prize: Yes (TBD)
Running Time: 9am-11am
Players: 4
Period: WWII
Scale: 28mm
Rules Used: Disposable Heroes II
Event Description: Having Cleared Fremecourt Farm, the Iron Men of Metz push on to the first of the Canrobert Forts. The 378th's first encounter with a Maginot Line fort is a bunker overlooking the road into the town of Feves. If the Yanks hope to push their armor support through, they must clear this bunker.

Event Title: The Iron Men of Metz (Game 3: Urban Brawl in Feves)
Theme Game: Yes
Prize: Yes (TBD)
Running Time: 1pm-3pm
Players: 4
Period: WWII
Scale: 28mm
Rules Used: Disposable Heroes II
Event Description: After pushing past the Bunker blocking Feves, the Yanks must clear the town of Germans. An urban brawl begins in the shattered buildings of the town. Artillery from both sides had plastered the village and left it a twisted tangle of rubble.

Event Title: The Iron Men of Metz (Game 4: Counterattack!)
Theme Game: Yes
Prize: Yes (TBD)
Running Time: 5pm-7pm
Players: 4
Period: WWII
Scale: 28mm
Rules Used: Disposable Heroes II
Event Description: Though the Yanks have broken through Feves, the Germans mount a desperate, but vicious counterattack to buy them time to rush reinforcements to Ft. Lorraine. Have the Yanks overextended themselves? German troops come crashing through a forested ridgeline and right into the Yank positions.

This looks great. I wish I had seen it earlier. My Dad was in the 95th Div. He was a T-5; I have his uniform and photos, mementos he saved. Hope you have great games.
