"The 2017 Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race turned out to be a great race indeed. The schooner Virginia, which has been absent in recent years due to financial issues, returned to race and was the first across the finish line, breaking her own past record time. At the smaller end of the fleet, schooner Norfolk Rebel, under the command of Steve Briggs, won a respectable third place in the Class C race. Thanks for the link Armand. I crewed on "Liberty Clipper" for her transition from Jacksonville, Florida to Nassau last December. Sorry to see that she finished in 6th in the Schooner Race this year. |

Got to sail on the Brilliant when I was younger for a week. Must have been a site to see all those schooners. |

Went out on a friend's boat to watch the start a couple of years ago. Got some nice photos. If I recall correctly "Pride of Baltimore II" won overall that year. |
