Nice work. I am contemplating the same conversion for my 1809 army but with shakos in campaign covers. You are correct about the gun. You would have been better off with a gun from Black Hussar or the Perrys themselves. |

I love to see conversions like this. Really effective and great painting. Interested to know what is wrong with the gun? Is it just the lack of woodgrain or something more fundamental eg scale, wheel thickness, detail?? I only have one gun from Brigade, a howitzer which looks fine to me. Black Hussar/Westfalia cannot be beaten for artillery of course |

Superb work, Gunfreak. The head swaps are seamless, and I wouldn't have know about the conversions if you hadn't pointed them out. |

Thanks guys! deadhead, no it's only the lack of wood grain, I'm no expert so I can't say if any details are missing.

you shouldn't see woodgrain anyway – the guns carriages were painted heavily. |

Great uniforms, great painting! |

Nice work GF! The basing looks good. I recognize dried grape stems, I've used those as well. I agree with Von W., the wood grain would never be seen due to paint. Models li have with nice wood grain are almost completely obscured the paint I put on. |

What a useful point. I always try to create some highlights on French artillery….because somehow that was the lesson I learnt. Russian Uniform Green from Vallejo, Sepia wash and then highlighted the moulded grain. Commonsense says you are all perfectly right! Even unpainted, at 28mm scale (1/56) the grain would not show up…….sob |

Yes, apparently there was a difference between artillerie a cheval (8pdr) and artilleri legere(4pdr) not a hard rule or official. But it existed. I scratched my head myself, especially since the division had two 4pdrs under control of artilleire a pied. |

Probably nonsense mate. it would take a team of more than 6-8 horses to move an 8pdr at anything faster than a trot. I'm just speculating though I dont have facts to hand. |

Apperantly 6 horses for horse 8pdrs vs 4 for foot. link |

Could use a bit more hollow for the wheels, otherwise, nice, with colors good at a table distance (slightly intense close up). |

Read up on Davout 3rd Corp at Auerstadt where 3 Horse artillery sections had 8lb's and their 4lb's were left with the Corp artillery reserve. |
