In a desire to do something different I decided to try my hand at a sort of semi-modern cops-and-robbers game. Can anyone offer some advice on where to find realistic 28mm standard-issue 'beat cop' police?

Tactical miniatures has some pretty good ones (I think armorcast owns them now). Rooke Cops, Narc Officers and others link West Wind has good Police Officers and Detectives link I've got all 4 of these sets. I painted up and reviewed the Tactical Rookies and the West Wind Officers. link I like them alot, and at some point I'll get around to painting the Detectives and Narcs also. Lastly, I think both companies offer baddies/crooks as well.

Crooked Dice has a set of US cops.

Crooked dice do some really nice ones: link link They have separate heads so they can be done up as big city cops, security guards or state troopers (with the smokey bear style hats). Also the "hero" set has a not-TJ Hooker and a not-sheriff from Stranger Things.

The Crooked Dice ones are great.
