Many moons ago i remember having a set of rules that were Hex Based. this is YEARS before GeoHex or TerrainMaker. I think they were published in Britain (possibly SkyTrex).

As I remember it was a brown cover and probably 40 pages or less. Never played them as i did not have the skills to create a Hex Board large enough to play on.

Skytrex micro armour rules. I still have a set. One base to one platoon.

They are fairly dreadful! Earlier than 1977 as I switched to WRG 73ed as soon as they came out.

You could play it with hexes (who on earth had those in 1973, apart from repurposed boardgames?) or with a ruler.

I went with the ruler based version. The diagrams were all hexes though.
