The last 5 seconds made me say "WHAT?????" |

Editing, Winston. Probably two totally unrelated scenes patched together to make people say "WHAT?????" |

I think that This episode is meant to shock us. I would bet a can of beer, no more, that the "WHAT???" scene is exactly as depicted. One of the many things I find unsettling about the whole Star Wars business is how they took a certified card carrying mass murderer (Darth Vader, hint hint hint…) and turned him into Dad. Kilo Ren is following in Grandpa's footsteps, body count not quite as high, and now he will be taking on Rey as his Paduan. Dumber things have happened on Star Wars. As much as I like a good Redemption story, the redemption of Darth VBader disgusted me. As will the redemption of his grandson. |

It's going to take a lot to change Kilo Ren into a real villain. He came across as a Winny Little B last time. |

I never really felt Vader redeemed himself, he just blinked at the end. And I'm ignoring the prequel trilogy so he gets a full career of evil, not just his 20s. I'm not sure I really want to watch the drama of Rey toe-tapping along the light/dark side line though, we got three movies of that in the prequels. I hope that was just editor-made drama. |

Don't forget the Rogue One trailer. The finished product for TLJ could have some, all, or none of what we just saw in the trailer actually up on the screen. |

How many times does Rey get captured in these movies? Why even rescue her? She'll just be captured and tortured two days later. That girl is going to need some serious therapy. Oh, and let's send the most recognizable guy from the First Order, Finn, on an undercover mission deep into the First Order's mothership…again. Yeah, that will work. Who is writing this stuff??? |

Well based on the epic ground battle scenes it looks like the First Orders general staff run their table top exercises using FOW. |

Mild concern that like Ep VII this will be essentially a remake of a prior episode (IV). Luke is trained by uncertain master, waivers between light and dark, redeems relative. Rey trained by uncertain master, waivers between light and dark then redeems relative. TomT |

I am a huge fan of Star Wars but I do not have high hopes. I loved Rogue One but thought of the Force Awakens as a wimpy relaunch. It was not truly God awful like the Phantom Menace but it was not really compelling. I don't care for Darth Snowflake or the fact that the head of the Empire is a Harry Potter villain. I guess Star Wars will be like the first run of Star Trek movies where every other movie was good. |
