I got myself an airbrush kit not too long ago and want to use a mask that will filter both particulates and vapors. Any suggestions as to make and model of mask? Thanks! Bob |

Most big box stores sell masks but only with dust filters. If you are lucky some of them may stock filters rated for vapors and other paint nasties. Also if you have a beard they will be a lot less effective. If you want to find out what is available in your area you could just go to your nearest vehicle repairer that does spray painting and ask what is available and where to get them from. You may want to be seated when you check the price for a good mask, but think what a replacement set of lungs and a liver would cost. |

Get yourself a pair of clear shop glasses, too. You don't want to get paint drops in your eyes. |

You have to die from something, but until then would suggest what jwebster is suggesting. I use one for work and its much better than paper masks. |

If you have stubble, or a beard that breaks the seal then you loose the protection of any mask…… Basic H&S……. Also the nature of the media being sprayed depends on the level of protection Just because you can't smell it doesn't mean the filters/ mask are effective. Sorry to be a bore but it's what I do for a living….H&S If you can be more specific I can advise…. Chris |

get adequate ventilation. a fan drawing air away from your work area is by far more reasonable then hermtically sealing yourself off from the world. |
