1922? Wow! This is definitely a fresh idea to me, one that I had never considered before.

Maybe the British are responding to Prohibition like they responded to Chinese attempts to limit the importation of opium some 60 years previously.

If its a reaction to prohibition then the attacking forces would probably have more resistance from gangsters than the army! Interesting idea.

It would be even funnier if the scenario were based on truth,,,because it is.

In Canada at least, it was a study for the staff college level on planning how you would conduct an invasion of the US from Canada. Maybe a touch ambitious for a country of ten million to invade a friendly neighbour ten times in population, but then again it was a staff exercise for the sake of planning.

At best it made for some interesting expense reports for hotels and restaurants when mid level officers went on travel through New York state in order to determine the best way to take New York city.

As far as prohibition goes, Canada made a mint out of it.
While the US was trying punitive measures against all those evil German-American breweries and the radicals were forcing the distilleries to turn to pharmaceutical alcohols, the lights of Canadian Distilleries shone brightly across the border to advertise in downtown Detroit.
