I'm trying to find some figures to either match or go along with this 25-28mm Janissary figure. I've perused as many of the historical manufacturers as I can find (which is probably about 30 or so)and am striking out.

Any recommendations?

I recommend you dont use photobucket.

Second that.

This is ridiculous. I've been searching some old threads for info, and time after time, there's that ×#$^'! Atomic clock!

A lot of good stuff, held hostage.

Skragnon22 Sep 2017 8:26 p.m. PST

Someone will need to clarify the issue with Photobucket.

The Beast Rampant22 Sep 2017 8:29 p.m. PST

I assumed these things showed up in old threads after the poster had wisely fled Photobucket. I don't know what your issue might be.

Go to blogger/imgur/flickr for a free acount and then link the pix.

It is because they are now charging people to use their service, I believe 399dollars

Kevin C23 Sep 2017 6:13 a.m. PST

Whoever manufactured your Janissary figures did a horrible job. They look like a speedometer or clock of some sort.

Hafen von Schlockenberg23 Sep 2017 11:50 a.m. PST

It happened to you because you tried to post your pics from there to here. That's "3rd Party Hosting",which is what they're now charging $399 USD for. Per year. Check the "Photography of Miniatures" board for several recent irate threads.

My brother has thousands of pics there. He tells me you can download them from there, but only one at a time, which he describes as a tedious process*.

Once you get them back, upload them to another storage site, as mentioned above. I use TinyPic, which is not only free, but easy. This on the recommendation of Condotta, whom I once again salute. He walks you through it here:

Looks like the pics on all the old threads are gone for good, unless the posters are willing to pay the extortion fee. Or unless Bill can somehow unlock the old threads for editing. That might be a Heculean task. And of course, some of these people are long gone. Oh,well.

*Although he worded it differently. IIRC, some sort of flatbread is involved.

Thanks to those that provided an explanation. I was unaware of the issue.

That figure is a Ral Partha Jannisary Musketeer from their Renaissance line. Excellent sculpting

Skragnon26 Sep 2017 8:19 p.m. PST

Otto,

Thank you. Looks like Iron Wind doesn't make them anymore, at least they aren't in their last catalog.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a figure that might go well with them? I'm looking for about 24 figures to flesh out a 60 figure unit.

Ottoathome27 Sep 2017 7:26 a.m. PST

Dear Skragnon

Don't hold your breath but let me look in my lead pile, I might have some left.

Otto
