Cobbled together pics of a test figure just moulded. Rather naff pic just done in daylight, photo table covered in 'crap' lol
Not at all sure whether to do a small range. Its wearing the reversiable 42 jacket.

Those look Great! I think a small range of those would be outstanding – of course, I realize I'm only one customer.

Great sculpt, but he looks rather casual, as though he's day-dreaming instead of expecting combat!

It's the snow….mind numbing!

lol donlowry,
I tend to keep test pieces simple pose wise, probably wondering why hes out in the cold…………

Very nice, with great detail.
The helmet netting is particularly good at that scale.
So this is not the more puffy white/grey winter coat?

Silurian,
You might be thinking of the parka style coats worn they tend to be thicker padded.

Beautiful figure, LA. I'd buy him, and more like him…

Leon they are wonderful like the rest of the figures you are sculpting recently. Especially love the work done on the helmet – don't think I have seen anything as good before.

Wonderful sculpt Leon!

He would be great for the Battle of the Bulge

This garment is more of a reversible smock? Not so thickly padded? In the picture it is so subtle that the padding is not obvious, but when viewed closely I can see the way the material is hanging suggests some padding. The trousers are clearly thicker.

Iirc the padding on parkas varied between no perceptible through slight to quite thick.
Parkas had buttons and I think a belt. Smocks didn't. Otherwise pretty similar.

Looks good to me.

It's the snow….mind numbing!

In which case he should be wearing the hood up.

Also, might help if he was looking directly forward instead of at his feet.

It's a very realistic sculpt, great for a man on the march -- but I want figures that look like they're in combat.

Just trying to give helpful feedback.

donlowry,
No problem you keep the feedback coming its always useful.
It is just a test figure, it will never go in production, just a quick lash up to check the look of various bits ( the mag pouches and chicken wire helmet cover ,I did them in a different way, in particular) and he is a bit leaning forward as I didnt notice a bit of leg wire cast through the base. I should know better than to put a WIP out there lol

As for padding your right Andy ONeill, they do vary a lot, thinks its because its organic stuff so settles/compacts with use and depending on the quality of manufacture.

Pose wise.
He seems to be looking where he's about to step.

Skarper23 Sep 2017 10:18 a.m. PST

He does look a bit chilled out for the heat of battle..

Great figure – I would buy them if there were a small range.
