I just finished painting my first group of 80's Canadian Infantry last night. Looking really good I must say. I bought into the Kickstarter as a gift for my son completing his BMQ (basic training)with the CF. As a review I would say all of the figures are nicely done, but specifically, for today, the Infantry. Very little flash, one slight line over the helmet, easily fixed. Good details that the wash really made stand out. I might add in some cigarette smokers as every Canadian soldier I ever knew/know smoked, including my Dad. I should have bought more during the Kickstarter but oh well, I will have to get more. Maybe to use as Airborne or another Company of Vandoo's or Picklies. Next on the paint table are Leopards, lynx's and M113's. Oh yes, I love the camo netting that came with the Tanks. But that is a different comment. |

@KevinV I have some of those to paint too. What paint scheme have you used please. Do you have Vallejo references? or did you use something else? |

Jarrovian, thanks for asking. I used Army Painter, army green spray prime. Coat d arms Army green helmets. Touched with Citadel Gretchen Green camo. Citadel Catachan green belts/webbing. Reaper Olive shadow LAWs and Charlie G. Vallejo-70871 leather brown boots (should have done in black though, I was looking at my sons new boots). I mixed up the FN brown And Army Painter Venom Wyrm (green)for any touch-ups. Finished with an Agrax wash. Did 70 figures in an evening. I think they look like the Canadian in Osprey Elite- NATO Armies of the Cold War. I'll try to get pictures up when I'm done the basing and groundwork. |

Thanks for that. I've just finished cleaning up one of his East German platoons prior to painting, not much to do, fairly clean castings. Going to start cleaning up the Canadians next. |

I have their russians. They are great figures with a lot of character. My only quibble is the NCOs are all the same figure. For my skirmish games I have to swap in other companies. Are their more poses for the leaders? Thanks Joe |

Not sure, my Russians are put away at the moment, but a quick email to Keith will answer your question. Certainly the East Germans have more than one officer/NCO figure. |

Canadians have several different NCM's. |

I worked on the vehicles last night. Just took a brush and started painting. By Jove, they look good! The figures have been painting themselves. I am now properly thrilled with ArmiesArmy. I will have to invest in Belgians and Norwegians. Kev |

Ahhhh…I want them all. Wanted Brits since the 80's, the real 80's. And Soviets, what a great enemy. Kev |
